Gwangyang City Holds Report Meeting on Discovering Contest and Award Projects and Rapid Financial Execution
Discovery of 172 Projects Worth 271.5 Billion Won in Public Contest and Award Programs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City held a report meeting on the 25th in the city hall situation room, chaired by Vice Mayor Kim Kyung-ho, to discover public contest and award projects for securing dependent resources and to review the status of the second half of the first half of the year’s rapid financial execution.
At the meeting, reasons for non-participation in public contests and award projects promoted by central government ministries, Jeollanam-do, and external organizations were examined, problems during participation were analyzed, corresponding response plans were prepared, and performance was checked to achieve rapid financial execution goals, seeking ways to improve budget execution rates.
Additionally, the city plans to acquire information on undiscovered projects and excellent projects whose contest details and schedules have not been disclosed, and to continuously maintain a collaborative system to proactively respond by preparing meticulously from the application stage so that many projects are selected.
The projects that the city is promoting or will apply for this year amount to 172 projects worth 271.5 billion KRW, and it will continue to discover and promote projects eligible for application in the future.
Furthermore, to overcome the difficulties in domestic consumption and the local economy caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic at an early stage, the city plans to focus its capabilities on executing 409 billion KRW by the end of June.
On this day, Vice Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “Securing dependent resources and rapid execution are emphasized more than ever for economic revitalization and swift promotion of New Deal projects to overcome COVID-19,” adding, “Since securing dependent resources and rapid execution are expected to play an important role in economic recovery, I hope all capabilities will be concentrated.”
He continued, “To be selected for project contests, one must work hard on the ground,” and added, “We must prepare contests meticulously and thoroughly to ensure many projects are selected.”
