Sancheong-gun Begins COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign
Sequential Vaccinations from March to May Starting with Nursing Hospitals on the 26th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 25th that it will begin COVID-19 vaccination from 9 a.m. on the 26th.
The vaccination follows the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's confirmation of the supply schedule for the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Starting with Sancheong Nursing Hospital, vaccinations will be administered to 364 people, including workers at 10 silver towns and nursing homes in the region.
The first dose is expected to be given from the 26th through early March, and the second dose from April 23 to early May.
The first dose targets residents under 65 years old and workers at nursing hospitals and facilities. The consent rate for vaccination among eligible recipients in Sancheong-gun is 94%.
For nursing hospitals, the hospital's medical staff will administer the vaccinations themselves. For the other nine silver towns and nursing facilities, contracted physicians visiting from the public health center vaccination team will visit the facilities to administer the vaccines.

A public health official from the county said, "We will do our best to ensure a smooth vaccination campaign so that local residents can return to their precious daily lives," and added, "We hope everyone actively participates in the vaccination."
