Cheongam University Department of Nursing Produces 10 Successful Candidates for Health Teacher Certification Exam
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Cheongam University (President Seo Hyung-won) announced on the 25th that 10 graduates from the Department of Nursing passed both the 1st and 2nd exams of this year’s ‘National and Public Health Teacher Appointment Examination’ and were finally accepted.
The successful candidates are Kim Seung-min (Class of ’98), Jung Hyun-ae (Class of ’12), Kim Min-ju (Class of ’13), Jung Hee-young (Class of ’13), Kim Ji-hyun (Class of ’13), Lee Hye-jin (Class of ’14), Jo Yoo-na (Class of ’15), Song Chae-eun (Class of ’15), Bae Eun-sol (Class of ’16), and Nam Hyo-eun (Class of ’16).
The Department of Nursing at Cheongam University is the only department in the eastern region that trains health teachers. To produce health teachers, it strictly selects 20 students approved by the Ministry of Education who are in the top 10% of their class based on first-year grades, aptitude and personality tests, and interviews, and who complete teacher training courses upon promotion to the second year.
Furthermore, until graduation in the fourth year, various competency enhancement programs are provided to support students’ dreams of passing the health teacher appointment exam through teacher training courses and the entire curriculum.
President Seo Hyung-won said, “Under the vision of a university that nurtures talent and a future with greater Cheongam, we are committed to training future-oriented talents who practice holistic nursing with respect for human dignity and focus on producing health teachers.”
Dean Choi Eun-joo of the Department of Nursing said, “Based on proper character, we are doing our best to nurture excellent health teachers through high-quality university and departmental educational programs.”
Meanwhile, the Department of Nursing at Cheongam University produced the top scorer nationwide in the national nurse examination in 1980, again produced the top scorer nationwide in the 57th national nurse examination in 2017, and all 224 graduates passed the 60th national nurse examination held last year.
