"From Bach to La La Land" Wavve Releases Richard Yongjae O'Neill Concert
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Online video service Wavve announced on the 25th that it will provide the live performance of violist Richard Yongjae O'Neill's 'Gift' held last December.
Yongjae O'Neill's Gift is the third performance in the 'On:Classic' series co-produced by Wavve, SK Telecom, and the performance planning company Credia. The On:Classic series is exclusively available on Wavve and B tv. Wavve monthly subscribers can enjoy the performance at no additional cost, and free users can watch multi-view clip videos through the Wavve mobile 5GX menu.
5GX Multi-view offers 'multi-audio,' which emphasizes the sound of each performer, a 'split-screen selection feature' that allows viewers to select only the desired screens, and a zoom function that can enlarge the desired part up to 4 times. On:Classic Gift allows viewers to enjoy rich sound from various perspectives such as the performer's expressions, fingering techniques, the concert hall panorama, and the choir view using 5GX Multi-view technology.
The performance is divided into two parts, preparing a diverse range of music genres from traditional classical to famous movie OSTs. In the first part, which focuses on traditional classical music, violist Yongjae O'Neill and violinist Yang In-mo present Baroque music by Vivaldi and Bach. For Bach's 'Concerto for Two Violins,' Yongjae O'Neill played the violin instead of the viola to complete the collaboration.
The second part consists of movie music carefully selected by Yongjae O'Neill. The stage features popular OSTs such as 'The Pink Panther,' 'Charlie Brown,' and 'Cowboy Bebop,' arranged by jazz pianist Jo Yoon-sung. In particular, the OST from the movie 'La La Land,' which left a beautiful melody and lingering impression, is also included in the performance repertoire, offering a unique viewing experience. The encore piece of this performance, 'Winter Wonderland,' is provided only through multi-view.
Park Sun-joo, manager of Content Wavve, said, "Yongjae O'Neill's Gift, which covers everything from classical to movie music, is expected to be easily and enjoyably appreciated by the whole family with its sophisticated arrangements of familiar songs."
