TIPA Launches 'Global Technology Cooperation Project Expert Committee'
[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) announced on the 24th that it has launched the 'Global Technology Cooperation Project Expert Committee' at the TIPA Technology Innovation Center.
The committee supports global technology cooperation for domestic small and medium-sized venture enterprises. It serves as a control tower that advises on policies related to the overall global technology cooperation projects, including consulting on the establishment of basic project plans and preparing support systems for overseas technology development cooperation projects centered on ecosystems.
Through the committee, TIPA plans to effectively support the global market entry of small and medium-sized venture enterprises. The committee will support SMEs by acting as a driving force for global technology cooperation projects, including ▲establishing a global technology cooperation network with various countries ▲providing grounds for promoting global research and development (R&D) projects ▲verifying the feasibility of project implementation.
Nine experts from various fields with extensive experience working at global cooperation organizations such as the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) or in related fields have been appointed as committee members.
Additionally, two subcommittees will be operated as needed: the 'Project Advisory Group,' which functions as the expert committee, and the 'ODA (Official Development Assistance) Advisory Group,' which functions as a subcommittee. The ODA Advisory Group plans to provide advice to help small and medium-sized venture enterprises with excellent technologies participate in ODA projects and pioneer overseas public markets.

Lee Jae-hong, President of TIPA, stated, "Since last year, TIPA has been identifying partner organizations to support the overseas expansion of domestic small and medium-sized venture enterprises," adding, "Through the committee, we will strengthen support for the global technological capabilities of SMEs with excellent technologies and actively promote their entry into new overseas markets."
