It is interpreted that the recent surge in DRAM prices surpassing 4 dollars has led to the strong stock performance of SK Hynix. According to global market research firm DRAMeXchange on the previous day, the spot price of DRAM used in PCs (based on DDR4 8Gb) recorded an average of 4.075 dollars, up 2.13% from the day before. The average spot price of PC DRAM exceeding the 4-dollar mark is the first time in 22 months since April 25, 2019 (4.032 dollars). Agyujin, a researcher at DB Financial Investment, said, "Despite the off-season in the first quarter of this year, DRAM prices have reversed to an upward trend, improving earnings," adding, "In the short term, SK Hynix's earnings improvement is due to the rebound in DRAM prices, and in the mid-to-long term, earnings growth will continue due to the rebound in NAND prices and increased shipments following the acquisition of Intel's NAND business division."
