[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Junhyung] The Korea Paper Association announced on the 24th that it has appointed Ahn Jaeho, president of Korea Paper, as the 34th chairman.
Chairman Ahn graduated from Busan Baejeong High School and Busan National University with a degree in Electronic Engineering. He joined Samsung SDI in 1988 and served as vice president. Since 2018, he has been the CEO of Korea Paper, and since 2020, he has served as the co-CEO of Seha.
In his inaugural speech, he stated, "Securing growth engines to lead the 4th Industrial Revolution and the post-COVID-19 era is the most urgent task." To this end, he proposed measures including ▲innovation into various basic material industries ▲maintaining the domestic market, which is the foundation of the domestic paper industry ▲securing competitive advantages for the domestic industry to expand export markets.

He also said, "I feel a heavy responsibility in taking on the position of chairman of the Korea Paper Association during these difficult times of many changes due to COVID-19," and urged, "Let us overcome difficulties and create new opportunities through harmony and cooperation in the paper industry."
