Gwangju Veterans Affairs Office Successfully Holds 'Ontact' Business Meeting for Companies in Gwangju, Jeon, and Nambuk Regions
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Regional Veterans Office (Director Im Seonghyun) announced on the 24th that it held a Gwangju, Jeonbuk, and Jeonnam regional business meeting on the 23rd in an 'Ontact' format.
The Ontact business meeting hosted by the Gwangju Veterans Support Center for Discharged Soldiers is an alternative event conducted via an online video conferencing app to maintain and strengthen ties with companies in a non-face-to-face manner, as face-to-face events have been suspended due to COVID-19.
This meeting was conducted online to overcome regional limitations, with participation from 18 companies including Jeonbuk defense industry company Dongyang Jeonggong Co., Ltd., and 8 cooperating organizations such as the Jeonbuk Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration.
At the event, promotional videos aimed at raising interest among companies and the public to help discharged soldiers who have devoted themselves to the nation and people settle stably in society were shown, along with practical content to help understand discharged soldiers, such as employment status of discharged soldiers.
A Gwangju Veterans Office official stated, “Going forward, the Gwangju Discharged Soldiers Support Center will continue to hold online and offline meetings in accordance with COVID-19 conditions,” adding, “We will do our best to help discover suitable jobs for discharged soldiers through company-friendly activities.”
