Gimhae City Implements Comprehensive Plan for Vaccination of 70% of Citizens
Starting with nursing hospitals on the 26th, aiming for 70% vaccination of all citizens
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 23rd that it has established and will implement a comprehensive COVID-19 vaccination plan aiming to vaccinate 70% of all citizens by November this year.
The city aims to vaccinate 309,661 people, which is 70% of the total population, before the influenza season. By next month, it plans to designate entrusted medical institutions, complete the installation of two vaccination centers (Cultural Gymnasium, Yulha Gymnasium) by June, and conduct simulation training to ensure smooth vaccination. It also plans to secure medical personnel such as doctors and nurses early.
In addition, to ensure rapid and safe vaccination, the city has early established a cooperative system including a rapid response team for vaccination, a public-private joint rapid response team for severe adverse reactions, and a public-private regional council for securing vaccination-related personnel.
The first vaccinations in the Gimhae area will be conducted on the 26th targeting 4,553 people (93% of the target) who agreed to be vaccinated among workers and patients under 65 years old in 32 nursing hospitals and 12 nursing homes. The city plans to complete this within the first quarter through hospital-based vaccination and health center visits.
