Daegu City, the Cradle of Venture Startups 'Startup Leaders Forum'
First Event of the Year Held at Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center on the 24th at 4 PM
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Daegu City will hold the region's representative angel investment briefing, the 'Daegu Startup Leaders Forum,' at 4 p.m. on the 24th at the Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center.
Angel investment refers to individual investors pooling funds to invest in very early-stage startups that have technology and ideas but are financially fragile. The Leaders Forum has been held on the last Wednesday of every even-numbered month to revitalize the private investment ecosystem.
The 31st forum will consist of ▲ 'Introduction to Investment Trends' by SAG Angel Club and Y&Archer ▲ 'IR Pitching' by six companies seeking investment ▲ and a 'Networking Session' to promote friendship between startups and investors.
Six companies participating in the IR pitching include Yesung Global Co., Ltd., CM Techron Co., Ltd., Buen Camino Co., Ltd., Doum Co., Ltd., DMC Co., Ltd., and Sera Craft Co., Ltd.
If a company participating in the Leaders Forum receives angel investment, it can apply for the 'Daegu Startup Leaders Fund' and receive matching investment support of up to 100 million KRW through screening.
So far, among 173 startups that have participated in the Leaders Forum, 29 companies have succeeded in attracting angel investment, and 26 companies have received matching investments from the Leaders Fund.
According to a survey of startups conducted by Daegu City last year, the private investment attraction success rate of companies participating in the Leaders Forum (37.5%) was more than three times higher than that of general startups (10.4%), indicating that the Leaders Forum has greatly contributed to spreading the local angel investment culture.
