[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 22nd that it is actively supporting entrepreneurs in the agriculture and fisheries sectors who challenge themselves with creative ideas by establishing an agriculture and fisheries development fund.
Since 2014, 79 farming and fishing households in Uljin-gun have benefited from the agriculture and fisheries development fund, receiving a total of 5.649 billion KRW in support.
The support targets are individuals, farming groups, or agricultural and fishing corporations residing in Uljin-gun who engage in agriculture, forestry, or fisheries. The fund is used for projects supporting production and distribution facilities to increase rural income, fostering specialized crops, developing export items, and management funds.
In particular, this year, 44 farming and fishing households were selected as beneficiaries with a project budget of 2 billion KRW. Among them, 700 million KRW was provided to 29 fishing households affected by the fishing gear fire at Hupo Port that occurred on the 29th of last month, planting a seed of hope for the fishermen who were in despair.
Operating funds are provided at a low interest rate of 1% per annum with a 2-year grace period and 3-year equal repayment, and facility funds with a 3-year grace period and 7-year equal repayment.
