This Year's Police Officer Candidate Selection Schedule Confirmed... Application Opens in August
Selection of 50 Men and Women Combined
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The Korean National Police University announced the schedule for the "2022 71st Police Officer Candidate Selection Examination" on the 22nd.
This year's officer candidate selection will recruit a total of 50 candidates, including 40 general, 5 tax accounting, and 5 cyber positions, with integrated selection of both men and women. Applications will be accepted from August 16 to 26, and the written exam will be held on October 16. Afterwards, physical and fitness tests, interviews, and other evaluations will take place, with the final successful candidates announced on December 17.
The final successful candidates of the officer candidate selection exam will complete a one-year training course at the Korean National Police University and then be appointed as lieutenants to work in various fields of public safety.

Meanwhile, starting from next year's officer candidate selection exam, the Constitution subject will be newly designated as a mandatory subject, and all subjects will be changed to multiple-choice format. Additionally, the Korean history subject will replace the existing English subject with a pass/fail system, among other changes to the written exam.
