Damyang-gun Launches 'Dementia Prevention Awareness Campaign with Residents'
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 22nd, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that it held a dementia prevention publicity campaign to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of prevention of dementia at the Damyang-eup 5-day market area.
This campaign was organized to foster empathy and understanding of dementia through improving awareness, dispel prejudice, and create a social consensus where people can live together with dementia.
On the day, the Dementia Safety Center focused on promoting the importance of following the ‘Dementia Prevention Rules 3.3.3’ and the necessity of early dementia screening to about 300 local residents, and also provided information on the Dementia Safety Center’s projects and usage guidelines.
Dementia is a representative elderly disease that seniors worry about the most and occurs due to various causes. Early detection, proper treatment and management, and improvement of symptoms associated with dementia can greatly reduce the pain and burden on patients and their families, as well as reduce social costs caused by dementia.
