Chosun University of Science and Technology Holds 2020 LINC+ Project Awards Ceremony
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Chosun Institute of Science and Technology announced that it held an awards ceremony related to the ‘2020 Academic Year LINC+ Promotion Project’ on the 22nd.
On that day, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the event was divided into two parts: Part 1 ‘LINC+ Performance Sharing Online Competition Awards’ and Part 2 ‘LINC+ Project Outstanding Departments and Outstanding Partner Companies Awards,’ with only a small number of awardees attending.
From the 3rd to the 9th, Chosun Institute of Science and Technology shared the achievements and various excellent cases of the 2020 Academic Year LINC+ Promotion Project with local residents through the LINC+ Project Online Performance Sharing Hall.
In this LINC+ Project Online Performance Sharing Hall, 24 capstone design works and 13 PBL portfolios produced by eight department customized contract classes at Chosun Institute of Science and Technology participated in the competition.
As a result, in the capstone design category, the grand prize was awarded to the ‘Yong-ui Nunmul’ (Dragon’s Tears) team from the Department of Computer Security; the excellence award went to the ‘WeHealth’ team from the Department of Sports Rehabilitation; and the merit awards were given to the ‘Lohas’ team from the Department of Automation Systems and the ‘Il-deung Haejo’ (First-Class Seaweed) team from the Department of Information and Communication, respectively.
The encouragement awards were won by the ‘Smart Electronics’ team from the Department of Electronics, the ‘Choi*Hong’ team from the Department of Computer Security, and the ‘Life Season’ team from the Department of Sports Rehabilitation.
Additionally, in the PBL portfolio category, the grand prize was awarded to the ‘Health Life’ team from the Department of Sports Rehabilitation; the excellence award went to the ‘Lens Story’ team from the Department of Life Environment Chemical Engineering; and the merit awards were given to the ‘COZY’ team from the Department of Life Environment Chemical Engineering and the ‘Silver Supporters’ team from the Department of Sports Rehabilitation, respectively.
In the subsequent Part 2 ‘2020 Academic Year LINC+ Project Outstanding Departments and Outstanding Partner Companies Awards Ceremony,’ the Departments of Mechanical Design, Life Environment Chemical Engineering, and Information and Communication at Chosun Institute of Science and Technology were honored as outstanding departments, and the outstanding partner companies selected were GeoC Co., Ltd., Soulbrain Co., Ltd., and PPI Co., Ltd.
Yeon In-hyeop, a student of the ‘Yong-ui Nunmul’ team that won the grand prize in the capstone design category, said, “Interest in hygiene and cleanliness is increasing day by day,” and added, “Considering the characteristics of public restrooms where continuous hygiene maintenance is difficult, the tool we developed to assist smart cleaning tasks and energy management received favorable reviews.”

Jo Min-a, a student of the ‘Health Life’ team that won the grand prize in the PBL portfolio category, said, “Due to westernized eating habits and decreased physical activity, the obese population is increasing, and various diseases caused by this are adversely affecting healthy life expectancy,” and expressed her thoughts, “Comparing and analyzing the effects of early morning and evening exercise times and proposing them seemed to receive good evaluations from the judges.”
