View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is promoting the ‘2021 Apartment Support Project’ so that residents can live in a safer and better apartment environment.
The Apartment Support Project is a program that supports part of the maintenance costs necessary to improve old and dangerous common facilities to create a pleasant residential environment in apartments, funded by the district’s own budget.
The support targets apartments with 30 or more households in Dobong-gu under the Apartment Management Act, including ▲repair of main roads and security lights ▲repair and dredging of outdoor sewage systems ▲repair of outdoor exercise facilities and tree pruning ▲installation and improvement of shared indoor sports facilities open to nearby residents ▲installation and improvement of bicycle roads, bicycle parking, and related facilities ▲repair and reinforcement of disaster safety facilities ▲expansion and repair of outdoor parking lots ▲installation and improvement of food waste collection and eco-friendly facilities, and delivery facilities ▲installation and improvement of energy-saving and water-saving facilities, as stipulated in the Seoul Dobong-gu Apartment Management Ordinance.
Applicants should submit the application form and related documents to the Housing Division of Dobong-gu Office by April 2. The district will decide on support eligibility and amount through the Apartment Support Review Committee, providing 50-60% of the requested project cost (up to 50 million KRW). Application forms and detailed information are available on the district website (Notice Board/Announcements).
Dobong-gu has been conducting the Apartment Support Project annually to improve residents’ quality of life. Last year, it supported a total of 45 apartments in the area with about 370 million KRW, improving the residential environment by replacing old transformers and repairing damaged roads.
This year, the district increased the budget by 100 million KRW from last year, allocating a total of 500 million KRW to expand convenience for residents. It plans to focus on improving facilities directly related to residents’ safety, such as automatic rooftop emergency door openers for fire accidents and repair and reinforcement of old electrical facilities to prevent power outages.
In particular, support for improving working facility environments for apartment security guards to enhance their human rights will also be included.
