Changing Tomorrow for Youth with Youthful Ideas...
Recruitment for the 3rd Geumcheon Youth Network Committee... February 24 to March 26, open to all local youth... Agenda discovery and policy proposals to solve local issues... Youth coordinators provide capacity-building training and youth exchange support
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is publicly recruiting members for the "3rd Geumcheon Youth Network" from February 24 to March 26.
The "Geumcheon Youth Network" is a proactive resident participation platform that discovers and proposes various policy agendas to solve youth issues.
Youth aged 19 to 39 who live or are active in the district can participate.
Participating youth will engage in various district government participation activities such as monitoring youth policies in Geumcheon-gu until March of the following year, discovering and proposing policy ideas, and capacity-building activities.
Last year, the 44 members of the 2nd term, despite difficulties in face-to-face activities due to COVID-19, held an online general meeting, roundtable discussions, online parties, and online performance sharing sessions. They directly proposed youth policies to be promoted by the district, such as operating the Youth Rest Classroom, managing the Geumcheon Art Market: Geumjari, and the Youth-Friendly Small and Medium Enterprise Exploration Project.
Youth wishing to participate can download the application form from the "Notices" board on the Geumcheon-gu Office website, fill it out, and submit it via email (fortune2hv@geumcheon.go.kr) or apply through the online application link.
The district operates the Youth Network Operation Secretariat to revitalize the Youth Network. A youth coordinator will actively support meeting activities and task execution management, event planning to activate the network, and exchanges between networks so that various ideas from youth can lead to practical policies.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I expect that through the active activities of the 3rd Geumcheon Youth Network members, Geumcheon-type youth policies that are practically needed by youth will be realized," and added, "We hope for active participation from youth interested in youth policies."
