Songpa-gu, Free Counseling Support for COVID Blue Healing Mental Health Checkup
Anyone aged 19 or older living in Songpa-gu can receive free mental health screening consultation support
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is promoting a free mental health checkup and counseling support project for residents experiencing psychological difficulties such as severe stress and depression.
Recently, due to the spread and prolongation of COVID-19, concerns about infection risk and restrictions on daily life caused by social distancing have increased, leading to many cases of so-called "corona blue."
In response, Songpa-gu has stepped up to help residents suffering from severe stress, depression, and other psychological difficulties.
Because of prejudice against psychiatry and the burden of medical expenses, many residents hesitate to visit hospitals and thus fail to detect mental health risks early. To address this, the "Mental Health Checkup Counseling Support" project is being conducted.
Any Songpa-gu resident aged 19 or older (as of 2021: born in 2002 or earlier) who is interested can receive mental health checkups and counseling support.
Regardless of income, residents receiving initial treatment are eligible for one free checkup and counseling session, plus up to two additional counseling sessions, for a maximum of three free counseling sessions. However, if medication is required, the treatment will be converted to paid service.
Residents wishing to receive treatment can choose a convenient location among 10 designated psychiatric medical institutions in the area and make a phone reservation. Afterward, they can visit with their ID and receive checkup and counseling from a specialist.
The 10 medical institutions are ▲Dami Neuropsychiatry Clinic (Jamsilbon-dong, 419-0152) ▲Dr. Jin Healing Mental Health Clinic (Munjeong-dong, 402-0667) ▲Songpa Dream Mental Health Clinic (Ogeum-dong, 2043-7737) ▲Songpa Seongmo Mental Health Clinic (Munjeong-dong, 2054-8977) ▲Shin Kyung-cheol Mental Health Clinic (Sincheon-dong, 2038-0909) ▲Irum Mental Health Clinic (Seokchon-dong, 425-1212) ▲Inseong Mental Health Clinic (Geoyeo-dong, 430-6251) ▲Jamsil Ai Mental Health Clinic (Sincheon-dong, 2202-7512) ▲Jamsil Haneul Mental Health Clinic (Sincheon-dong, 416-1333) ▲Haesol Mental Health Clinic (Bang-i-dong, 414-7755).
