Guro-gu, Multicultural and Foreign Tax Labor Consultation Service
Operated every Tuesday from 1 to 5 PM at Guro-gu Workers' Comprehensive Support Center... Expert consultations available in the relevant field... Accessible by visit or phone
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] “We resolve your questions about tax systems and labor laws”
Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is providing tax and labor consultation services for multicultural families and foreign residents.
Guro-gu stated, “Multicultural and foreign residents are often disadvantaged due to a lack of understanding of domestic systems,” and added, “Therefore, we offer ‘Multicultural and Foreign Resident Tax and Labor Consultation Services’ through experts in these fields.”
Last year, Guro-gu became the first autonomous district in Seoul to start tax consultation services for multicultural families and foreign residents. Due to positive feedback from residents who used the service, this year the consultation scope has been expanded to include labor issues.
The tax and labor consultation services are held every Tuesday from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Guro-gu Workers’ Comprehensive Support Center (Digital-ro 242, Room 213).
The district’s Taxpayer Protection Officer handles tax consultations including national and local taxes, while a certified labor attorney from the Workers’ Comprehensive Support Center provides consultations on labor laws such as minimum wage and working hours.
After consultations, the Taxpayer Protection Officer also connects clients to legal advice through Seoul’s Village Tax Accountants if necessary. For foreign residents, the service checks for any unpaid taxes before visa extensions and guides them to ensure proper payment.
Those who wish to receive consultations can visit the consultation service center on the scheduled date or use phone consultations (Tax 860-3296, Labor 852-7341).
