Hyundai Motor Group to Appoint First Female Outside Director
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Motor Group is expected to appoint a female outside director for the first time in its history.
According to industry sources on the 19th, Hyundai Mobis announced yesterday that it plans to propose the nomination of Professor Kang Jin-ah from Seoul National University’s Graduate School of Technology Management, Economics, and Policy as its first female outside director candidate at the shareholders' meeting scheduled for the 24th of next month.
Professor Kang is an expert with nearly 30 years of experience in technology management and business innovation, and is highly regarded for her understanding of the automotive industry, having served as a founding director of the Korea Mobility Society. She is also expected to be appointed as an audit committee member.
This is the first time Hyundai Mobis has nominated a female outside director candidate.
