On the 18th, Lee Jae-gap, Minister of Employment and Labor, delivered a speech at the on-site meeting for the Aviation Industry Employment Retention Subsidy held at Jeju Air's Seoul office in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. This meeting was organized to share Jeju Air's experience in maintaining employment through joint efforts between labor and management despite the sharp decline in air travel demand following the COVID-19 pandemic, and to listen to their difficulties. Since last year, Jeju Air has maintained employment by having executives agree to partial salary reductions and scaling back welfare programs, while receiving government employment retention subsidies./Reporter Kim Hyun-min kimhyun81@
