[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 17th that it will promote early ordering of 266 public construction projects worth 28.3 billion KRW in the first half of the year to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The scale of this early ordering of public construction projects mainly covers living infrastructure closely related to residents' lives, including 162 small-scale resident convenience projects worth 7.7 billion KRW, 49 river and road maintenance projects worth 14.9 billion KRW, and 55 agricultural infrastructure projects worth 5.7 billion KRW.
The county started design work at the end of December last year to complete the projects before the farming season and minimize farming inconveniences.
They plan to place orders for major projects by February this year and complete them by May, increasing the advance payment rate for construction to revitalize the depressed economy and create jobs.
