Decisive Incentives to Be Given for Establishing a Creative and Proactive Culture
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seok-jun) announced on the 17th that it has selected 5 '2020 Exemplary Public Officials for Proactive Administration.'
This award system was established to foster a culture of proactive administration within the public service based on creativity and expertise.
The Office of Education explained that the selected exemplary public officials were recognized for producing results through proactive work efforts despite the crisis caused by COVID-19, and for carrying out their duties creatively and challengingly.
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education received a total of 18 outstanding cases from various institutions and selected 5 exemplary public officials in total?2 grand prize winners, 1 excellence awardee, and 2 encouragement awardees?through a first preliminary review and a second proactive administration committee evaluation.
In this selection, Jang Myung-guk, an officer from the Safety Planning Division of the Office of Education, won the grand prize for the case of ‘Improving school routes through land ownership exchange among related agencies,’ and Lee Soo-yeol, the administrative director of Gupo Elementary School, won the grand prize for the case of ‘School development funds must be available for children.’
Im Sung-hoon, the administrative director of Gaerim Middle School, received the excellence award for the case of ‘Turning a dead-end road into a safe school route stepping stone.’
Kim Sook-ri, an officer at the Creative Convergence Education Center, won the encouragement award for the case of ‘Securing 500 million won in national subsidies to create a marine culture experience space that everyone can enjoy,’ and Oh Sun-hee, the administrative director of Ami Elementary School, received the encouragement award for the case of ‘Improving the safety environment of the school zone at Daegyo Elementary School.’
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to provide exceptional personnel incentives to exemplary public officials for proactive administration to foster a culture that values proactive administration and encourages voluntary participation. These incentives include ‘special promotion,’ ‘priority selection for training,’ ‘highest grade performance bonuses,’ and ‘desired transfer.’
Additionally, exemplary cases of proactive administration will be shared and disseminated by posting them on the Office of Education’s website.
Furthermore, to establish and revitalize a culture of proactive administration, the Office plans to select exemplary public officials twice this year, in the first and second halves.
