Gyeongnam Province Promotes 'QC Designation' for Quality-Assured and Recommended Products
Applications by production city and county from February 18 to March 17, designation scheduled for late May
Products designated as Recommended Products (QC) may display the 'QC Certification Mark' on the packaging or surface of the product.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 17th that it will designate the 'Gyeongsangnam-do Recommended Products (QC)' for the first half of this year around the end of May.
QC (Quality Certificate) is a system in which Gyeongsangnam-do certifies the quality of products produced within the province and recommends them to consumers. The QC quality certification mark is registered with the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
Gyeongsangnam-do introduced and has been operating this system since 1994, the first in the nation, to ensure strict quality improvement for producers and to enable consumers to purchase excellent products.
Recommended products are designated twice a year, in the first and second halves. The certification is valid for two years and can only be extended after a re-designation review before the expiration date. Producers wishing to be designated or re-designated can apply to the production area’s responsible city or county from the 18th to March 17th.
The province plans to designate the '2021 First Half Gyeongsangnam-do Recommended Products (QC)' around the end of May after document screening by the subcommittee and on-site inspections. Products designated as recommended products (QC) can display the 'QC certification mark' on their packaging or surface.

At the 2021 Gyeongnam Specialty Products Expo scheduled to be held in November, a Gyeongsangnam-do Recommended Products (QC) pavilion will be operated to pioneer overseas markets for QC products. As of the end of last year, 213 companies and 531 items have been designated as recommended products.
