"Only Now a Global University" Pukyong National University Selected as an Accredited University for Internationalization of Education Competency
Ministry of Education Approves Both Degree Programs and Language Study Abroad Programs 'OK'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-soo) has been selected as a university certified for its "Educational Internationalization Competency," which gauges the level of internationalization in universities.
Pukyong National University achieved certification for both degree programs and language training programs following the review by the Ministry of Education's Educational Internationalization Competency Certification Committee. The certification period is two years, from March this year to February 2023.
The Educational Internationalization Competency Certification system is designed to recognize universities with high internationalization capabilities, expand the attraction of excellent foreign students, and enhance universities' internationalization competencies.
In this certification evaluation, Pukyong National University received excellent ratings across all assessment indicators, including illegal stay rates, strategy and selection, management of international students and language trainees, and outcomes.
With this certification, Pukyong National University will benefit from simplified visa issuance procedures for foreign students as well as various educational policies and projects.
Centered on the International Exchange Headquarters (Director Yoon Il), Pukyong National University operates an emergency response team for COVID-19 and exclusive online education programs for international students.
Pukyong National University has been recognized for its continuous efforts to guarantee the learning rights of foreign students, improve the treatment of Korean language instructors and the quality of lectures, and manage the psychological health of Korean language trainees.
