National Intangible Heritage Center Unveils Song Bang-ung's 'Unhakmun Namgyeongdae'
Exhibition "Kkumim, Danjang-eul Hada" Held Until July 16
The National Intangible Heritage Center announced on the 15th that it will hold the exhibition "Decoration, Adorning" at the Nuri Maru Rakibium Chaekmaru until July 16. This event introduces items used by women who have pursued cleanliness and beauty. It showcases eighteen pieces across seven categories, including a kyungdae (traditional mirror stand), norigae (traditional ornaments), tteoljam (hair accessory), and jewelry boxes, all crafted by human cultural asset holders. Visitors can also see the 2011 work "Unhakmun Namgyeongdae" by Song Bang-ung, a holder of the national intangible cultural asset for lacquerware, who passed away last year. An official stated, "We have prepared recorded videos and books documenting the creation process of the works to satisfy intellectual curiosity." The Rakibium Chaekmaru, where the exhibition and records can be viewed, operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding holidays). It is run by reservation only, and visits can be booked through the Chaekmaru website or by phone.
