With Social Distancing Eased, Seoul Metropolitan Banks Open at 9 AM and Close at 4 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] As social distancing measures due to COVID-19 are eased from level 2.5 to level 2, the operating hours of bank branches in the Seoul metropolitan area will be extended by one hour again.
According to the Korea Federation of Banks on the 15th, from this day forward, bank branches in the metropolitan area will operate normally from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Previously, on December 7 last year, the Financial Industry User Council and the National Financial Industry Labor Union agreed to temporarily shorten the operating hours of metropolitan area banks by one hour in response to the escalation of social distancing to level 2.5.
Accordingly, for more than two months, metropolitan area banks operated from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Compared to the usual opening and closing times, they opened 30 minutes later and closed 30 minutes earlier.
