NongHyup Conducts Nationwide Agricultural Machinery Inspections Ahead of Farming Season
In the Interest of Preventing Agricultural Machinery Accidents... Inspection of 563 Sites Nationwide
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Agricultural Cooperative announced on the 15th that from the 15th of this month to the 14th of next month, free engine oil changes and safety inspections will be conducted at 563 Nonghyup Agricultural Machinery Centers nationwide.
The inspections are planned to prevent agricultural machinery accidents ahead of the full-scale farming season.
The program targets tractors, combines, and rice transplanters supplied to local farmers through regional Nonghyup cooperatives via the Nonghyup Economic Holding Company over the past three years.
Especially this year, considering the COVID-19 situation, the service will be conducted non-face-to-face.
When a regional Nonghyup designates a location, farmers can apply remotely, and after the engine oil change and safety inspection of the relevant agricultural machinery are completed, the service will be provided by visiting the site.
To assist farmers in Nonghyup cooperatives without agricultural machinery centers or in areas with poor repair infrastructure, the expansion of mobile agricultural machinery repair services will also be promoted.
Lee Seong-hee, Chairman of the Nonghyup Central Association, said, "This is a time when thorough safety inspections of agricultural machinery are necessary before the full-scale farming season begins," adding, "We will do our best to support farming services so that farmers can use agricultural machinery safely and reduce agricultural management costs."
