All 73 Homeless People at Suwon Station Test Negative for COVID-19
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] On the 12th, Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that all 73 "street homeless" individuals living around Suwon Station who underwent COVID-19 diagnostic testing were confirmed negative.
To prevent cluster infections among the homeless, Suwon City conducted specimen collection at the temporary screening clinic near Suwon Station from the 1st to the 11th, one day before Lunar New Year, targeting 73 street homeless individuals around Suwon Station.
Earlier, at the end of last month, the city conducted proactive diagnostic testing on 111 homeless facility workers and homeless individuals within the jurisdiction.
The city also guided the street homeless to apply for the "Gyeonggi-do Disaster Basic Income," providing Suwon Pay to 58 people.
Suwon City plans to continue regular diagnostic testing for street homeless individuals. Additionally, comprehensive testing for homeless facility workers and homeless individuals will be conducted once every two weeks.
The city will also offer the "Gyeonggi-do Disaster Basic Income Visiting Application Service" to homeless individuals dining at free meal centers near Suwon Station and to street homeless individuals.
