Installation of 100 Solar-Powered LED Street Name Plates in Gaehwa Village Area, Gangseo-gu, Seoul
Improving Convenience of Road Name Address Navigation... Easy Identification at Night with Added Lighting Effects
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The dark alleys of Gaehwa Village have brightened up.
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Noh Hyun-song) announced that it has installed 100 pedestrian solar-powered LED street name signs in the Gaehwa Village area of Banghwa-dong.
The purpose is to help residents easily find their destinations by checking the street name addresses even on nighttime alleys and side streets.
The Gaehwa Village area is a region with few apartments or large buildings, making it difficult to find the way at night due to the darkness of the streets.
Accordingly, the district selected intersections without street name signs and places with more than four hours of sunlight exposure in the Gaehwa Village area to install hanging solar-powered LED street name signs to improve navigation convenience and create a safe walking environment.
The newly installed solar-powered LED street name signs charge electricity using solar power during the day and light up at night, minimizing power consumption and allowing semi-permanent use.
In particular, the bright LED lights at night make the signs highly visible and easy to identify, providing excellent lighting effects that help alleviate the anxiety of women and the elderly on their way home.
The district plans to review expanding the installation of solar-powered LED street name signs based on residents' responses and effectiveness.
