ISO 45001 is an international standard in the field of occupational health and safety management established by ISO to prevent industrial accidents and create a safe working environment. To obtain the certification, an organization must establish an occupational health and safety management system that complies with laws, regulations, and related international standards for accident prevention, and must adhere to and implement these requirements.
On the 9th, KQL Certification Institute, an agency representing ISO, awarded the ISO 45001 certificate to KT Enterprise Division, which leads KT's B2B business sector, at the KT Gwanghwamun Building West office. The certification covers the integration, design, construction, and maintenance of information communication systems and networks.
In line with the characteristics of the business-to-business (B2B) sector, KT was recognized for its efforts in implementing the ‘Safety Basic 5,’ which includes ▲establishing a standard safety management plan compliant with relevant laws and regulations ▲operating and utilizing systematic risk assessment procedures ▲strengthening self-inspection activities to evaluate compliance with safety management regulations ▲preparing detailed work guidelines for 16 hazardous and special construction types ▲operating labor-management consultative bodies related to occupational health and safety.
KT plans to actively respond to social demands such as the Serious Accident Punishment Act and amendments to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and to continuously strengthen its occupational health and safety management system in accordance with the company’s vision of being a ‘safety-first company leading safety culture.’
