Introduction of 'Tapeless' Eco-Friendly Delivery Boxes Without Vinyl Tape

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] 11st is joining environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management by introducing an 'eco-friendly delivery box' made from 100% recyclable eco-friendly materials.
11st announced on the 9th that since last month, it has been using eco-friendly 'tapeless' boxes for delivery on some of the 'Sib-il Choice' products directly selected by MDs, which eliminate all tape to facilitate easy disassembly and separate disposal.
The tapeless box is assembled without using adhesive tape, so there is no need to remove tape when disposing of it, and it is an eco-friendly box that is 100% recyclable. It is provided in size 1, which can hold lightweight products weighing less than 3kg. For 11st's direct delivery boxes, all five types of boxes (sizes 1 to 5) are made from recyclable paper materials, and except for the tapeless size 1 box that requires no tape, all others use paper tape instead of vinyl tape.
Starting next month, vinyl cushioning materials will be replaced with 100% recyclable paper cushioning materials, and the box exterior design will also be newly updated. The delivery box exterior will include phrases such as "Thank you always, delivery drivers" and "11st uses paper packaging materials with the environment in mind," allowing customers to appreciate delivery drivers and consider environmental protection from receiving the product to disposal.
11st plans to continue long-term investments for ESG management starting with the introduction of this eco-friendly delivery box. In the future, it plans to sell eco-friendly recyclable delivery packages to general sellers as well, encouraging more sellers and customers to use eco-friendly delivery boxes.

Jinwoo Lee, head of 11st's Delivery Innovation TF, said, "We have been continuously considering alternative solutions to reduce environmental pollution caused by the surge in delivery boxes due to COVID-19," adding, "We will establish sustainable measures so that customers can participate in environmental protection throughout the entire process of receiving and disposing of products by building consensus with sellers on eco-friendly delivery."
