[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] As of 1:30 PM on the 8th, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that a total of 3 confirmed cases have occurred, including 2 in Changwon and 1 in Gimhae.
Among the 2 confirmed cases in Changwon, one was classified as case number 2024 after testing positive following symptom onset during quarantine after contact with a confirmed case within the province.
Another individual who voluntarily got tested after feeling symptoms was classified as case number 2026. The route of infection is under investigation. The confirmed case in Gimhae was classified as case number 2025 after testing positive following contact with a confirmed case within the province.
Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province have increased to 2,023 (118 hospitalized, 1,897 discharged, 8 deceased).
Meanwhile, regarding the 4 confirmed cases among a foreign family on the 7th, health authorities conducted tests on a total of 85 people at workplaces and schools. Except for Gyeongnam case number 2025, all 83 tested negative.
