Gwangju Buk-gu Provides Livelihood Stabilization Funds to Businesses Including Prohibited Gathering Facilities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 7th that it will provide Buk-gu-type livelihood stabilization funds for businesses and citizens affected by gathering bans and other restrictions.
This livelihood stabilization fund is the second support following last year's assistance for businesses and religious facilities subject to gathering bans due to social distancing measures.
On the 2nd, Buk-gu plans to provide a total of 174.5 million KRW to 349 businesses in six industries, including gathering ban facilities, transportation, and travel agencies, as part of the support targets announced in Gwangju City's 12th livelihood stabilization measures.
Specifically, the support targets include 246 establishments such as entertainment bars, karaoke bars, colatecs, and holdem pubs that complied with gathering bans from December 24 last year to the 13th of last month, 9 chartered bus transportation companies experiencing management difficulties, and 94 travel agencies, each receiving 500,000 KRW.
The Buk-gu-type livelihood stabilization fund will be provided additionally to businesses that applied for Gwangju City's livelihood stabilization support project without separate applications.

District Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, "I hope the livelihood stabilization fund will be of some help to self-employed people and residents struggling with their livelihoods due to COVID-19," and added, "We will continue to cooperate with related organizations including Gwangju City to make every effort to stabilize livelihoods."
