[Breaking] 56 Confirmed Cases from Anonymous Tests at Temporary Testing Sites in the Seoul Metropolitan Area... 20% of Local Cases in the Region
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] Confirmed cases continue to be identified at temporary screening clinics set up to find 'hidden infections' of COVID-19 in the Seoul metropolitan area.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) on the 6th, a total of 56 new confirmed cases tested positive through anonymous tests conducted at temporary screening clinics in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon the previous day.
This accounts for 15.3% of the 366 new locally transmitted confirmed cases reported as of midnight that day.
Compared to 274 locally transmitted confirmed cases in the metropolitan area, this figure reaches 20.4%. This means that one out of every five confirmed cases in the metropolitan area was diagnosed positive after visiting a screening clinic without any particular symptoms.
Looking at the regions where the 56 new confirmed cases were found, there were 32 in Seoul, 18 in Gyeonggi, and 6 in Incheon.
Currently, there are a total of 131 temporary screening clinics operating in the metropolitan area: 53 in Seoul, 70 in Gyeonggi, and 8 in Incheon.
