Park Yong-ha, chairman of the Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “We decided to donate funds to provide some support for small self-employed business owners who are facing the risk of closure due to a sharp decline in sales and those in vulnerable economic conditions,” adding, “Although it is a small amount, we hope it will serve as a catalyst to quickly restore the lively atmosphere of the past with the end of COVID-19 and economic recovery.”
Kwon Oh-bong, mayor of Yeosu City, said, “It is very fortunate that there have not been many confirmed cases due to the active compliance of citizens with quarantine rules,” and added, “I believe that support and interest from all sectors for small business owners and low-income groups who are experiencing difficulties will be the nourishment to overcome this difficult time well.”
