Design Promotion Institute, 2021 NCS-Based Open Recruitment for New Employees
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Institute of Design Promotion (Director Yoon Joo-hyun) announced on the 5th that it will publicly recruit new employees (regular level 5) based on the 2021 National Competency Standards (NCS).
The recruitment fields are ▲General Affairs Operation and Management (Management Support Office) ▲Human Resources Planning and Management (Management Support Office) ▲Digital Marketing (Public Relations and Communication Team) ▲Website Construction and Operation (K Design Office) ▲IT System Operation and Management (Data Platform Office) ▲Digital Education Content Development (Talent Development Office) ▲Design Research Planning and Operation (Design Research Office), hiring one person per field, totaling seven people.
This recruitment will proceed based on the National Competency Standards (NCS) through document screening, written tests (basic vocational competency evaluation and job performance ability evaluation), personality tests (comprehensive personality evaluation), and structured first and second interviews focused on job competency, using a blind method that excludes discriminatory factors such as gender, age, and academic background.
Special preference points are given to employment support candidates (5% or 10% additional points per screening stage), persons with disabilities (5% additional points per screening stage), low-income groups (3% additional points per screening stage), and public officials (10% additional points per screening stage). General preference points are applied to non-metropolitan area talents (3% additional points in document screening), youth internship experience holders (1% additional points in document screening), and holders of Level 1 Korean History Proficiency Test (1% additional points in document screening).
Applications will be accepted through the institute’s recruitment page until the 15th. After document screening, written tests, online personality tests, first interviews, and final interviews, verification of supporting documents and authenticity will be conducted, and the final successful candidates will be announced on the 24th of next month.

Meanwhile, among those confirmed positive for COVID-19, those who have recovered can take the test if they submit related documents at least one day before the exam. Those not yet recovered cannot take the written or interview tests, but those under self-quarantine can take the test if their release is confirmed. Additionally, the Korea Institute of Design Promotion has established safety management measures for the exam venues to respond to COVID-19, including disinfection before and after exams, mandatory mask-wearing, temperature checks before entering the exam room, and securing distance between examinees. Depending on the strengthening of COVID-19 prevention guidelines, preemptive testing and other measures will be taken for interview participants.
