Guro-gu to Support Lifelong Learning Outstanding Clubs with up to 1 Million KRW
For Adult Lifelong Learning Clubs with 10 or More Members... Over 20 Clubs Selected... On-site Registration at District Office Education Support Division from the 8th to 10th of This Month... Selection Results Announced in March
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is launching the ‘Lifelong Learning Excellent Club Support Project’.
On the 5th, Guro-gu announced, “To satisfy residents' learning desires and encourage community activities within the region, we have prepared the ‘Lifelong Learning Excellent Club Support Project.’”
Lifelong learning clubs are small groups where residents independently study their areas of interest and, based on that, engage in activities that give back to the local community, such as talent donation.
Guro-gu will select about 20 lifelong learning clubs active in the area and provide subsidies of up to 1 million KRW per club.
Priority will be given to clubs or study groups formed for continuous learning after attending programs at lifelong learning centers or neighborhood learning spaces, clubs with talent donation activities at least twice a month, and clubs that operate non-face-to-face activities using online platforms.
Clubs wishing to apply should visit the Education Support Division of the district office between the 8th and 10th of this month to submit application forms, project plans, and other documents, and also send the files via email (harin1222@guro.go.kr).
For more details, refer to the Guro Lifelong Learning Center website.
Guro-gu plans to select supported clubs through document screening and review by the Local Subsidy Deliberation Committee, and announce the results in March.
A Guro-gu official said, “Through this ‘Lifelong Learning Excellent Club Support Project,’ we hope residents experience the joy of learning and the happiness of sharing,” and added, “We ask for the interest and participation of many people.”
