Request for Audit by the Board of Audit and Inspection to Verify Facts
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Guri City, Gyeonggi Province, announced its position on last month's SBS report titled "Guri City, Allegations Related to Recruitment" and has requested an audit from the Board of Audit and Inspection.
On the 4th, An Seung-nam, Mayor of Guri City, stated, "Regarding SBS's report on 'Guri City recruitment-related allegations,' although recruitment is conducted in compliance with regulations and through lawful and fair procedures, the city's image has been severely damaged by baseless speculative allegations. Therefore, we proposed requesting an audit to clarify the facts and correct the situation."
He continued, "We cannot overlook SBS's report on the 8 o'clock news that exaggerated suspicions about where the recruitment information was leaked from, misleading viewers. If these are false facts, we will definitely hold them legally accountable," expressing a strong intention to respond firmly.
Earlier, on the 29th of last month, SBS reported on the 8 o'clock news that "Guri City hired unqualified individuals across its affiliated organizations, secured jobs for the mayor's close associates' children, and reappointed a policy advisor who committed drunk driving."
