Geochang-gun Supports Flower Farmers with 'Buy Flowers' Campaign
Joint Purchase of 20 Million KRW by Administrative and Agricultural Agencies
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 4th that it will carry out a 'Buy Flowers Campaign' to help flower farmers who are struggling due to a sharp decline in flower retail caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The county is conducting the flower buying campaign with the participation of all departments, eup/myeon offices, and related organizations such as the Nonghyup, and flower farmers have been supplying flowers sequentially since the 1st.
An unmanned sales stand will be installed in the county office lobby to sell freesias, hydrangeas, kalanchoes, wildflowers, and more.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, "With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, graduation ceremonies and other events are held online, causing great difficulties for flower farmers," and added, "We hope many people will participate in the Buy Flowers Campaign to support flower farmers."
