6 Confirmed Cases in Gyeongnam Province... 4 Cases of Variant Virus (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] As of 1:30 PM on the 4th, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that a total of 6 confirmed cases have occurred: 3 in Changwon, 2 in Miryang, and 1 in Geoje.
Among the 3 confirmed cases in Changwon, 2 are under 10 years old and tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province, classified as cases 1996 and 2001.
One case with an unclear infection route also tested positive and was classified as case 1997.
The 2 confirmed cases in Miryang tested positive after contact with family members and acquaintances of confirmed cases, classified as cases 1998 and 1999 respectively.
The 1 confirmed case in Geoje also tested positive after contact with a confirmed case family member and was classified as case 2000.
Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province increased to 1,998 (159 hospitalized, 1,831 discharged, 8 deceased).
Meanwhile, the province tested a total of 135 people who had contact with 4 confirmed cases infected with the UK variant virus. Except for the 4 confirmed cases, all others tested negative.
