Haenam County, LG Electronics Establish One Company One Village Sisterhood Partnership
Agricultural Product Purchase and Volunteer Work Exchange Activities in Bukpyeong Donghae, Osan Village
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan) and LG Electronics (CEO Kwon Bong-seok) have signed a sisterhood agreement for the 1 Company 1 Village rural coexistence cooperation program.
According to Haenam-gun on the 3rd, the 1 Company 1 Village sisterhood is a mutual exchange program where companies and villages form sisterhoods to revitalize rural areas by supporting villages through helping with labor and direct transactions of agricultural products.
LG Electronics' 1 Company 1 Village agreement targets two locations: Donghae Village and Osan Village in Bukpyeong-myeon, and plans to deeply understand each other and promote practical support needed in the villages.
On this occasion, LG Electronics decided to purchase kimchi worth 10 million won produced in Haenam Donghae Village and donate it to social welfare facilities.
Also, in February, laptops will be delivered for university freshmen children in the village, and old home appliances in the village hall and senior centers will be replaced and supported. Since the agreement was made non-face-to-face due to COVID-19, once the situation improves, employee kimchi-making and rural volunteer activities will also be supported.
