20s Man Arrested and Sent to Prosecution for Hitting Woman's Back of Head near Gangnam Station
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 20s who struck the backs of the heads of unfamiliar women near Gangnam Station in Seoul and fled has been handed over to the prosecution.
Seoul Suseo Police Station announced on the 3rd that they have sent Cho, who is accused of assault, to the prosecution in custody.
Cho is suspected of approaching women in their 30s and 40s on the streets near Gangnam Station over about a month starting early last month, striking the backs of their heads with his hand and fleeing. Initially, it was known that there were four victims, but during the police investigation, one more victim was identified. He has no history of mental illness, and it was confirmed that he was neither under the influence of alcohol nor drugs at the time of the crimes.

Earlier, on the 29th of last month, Judge Kim Tae-gyun, in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, held a pre-trial detention hearing for Cho and issued an arrest warrant, stating, "The case is serious, and there is concern that the suspect may flee or destroy evidence."
