Imsil-gun Completes Disaster Relief Fund Support for Vulnerable Groups Ahead of Seollal Holiday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 1st that it has completed the distribution of Imsil Love Gift Certificates, a disaster relief fund for low-income households in Imsil, to 1,309 people in 1,147 households including seniors aged 65 or older, severely disabled persons, and multicultural families among the vulnerable groups receiving secondary benefits who are facing economic difficulties due to COVID-19 ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Imsil-type disaster relief fund for low-income households was distributed through 12 towns and townships either by direct visit or home visit, with 150,000 KRW worth of Imsil Love Gift Certificates for single-person households, 200,000 KRW for two-person households, and 250,000 KRW for households with three or more members.
As COVID-19 has continued from last year through this year, the county invested 179 million KRW to distribute Imsil Love Gift Certificates to local residents who are having a harder time celebrating the Lunar New Year holiday.
Following the investment of a total of about 360 million KRW of county funds last year for two holidays to support local residents struggling with livelihood difficulties, the support policy continues this year’s holiday as well.
The low-income disaster relief gift certificate support project promoted by Imsil-gun aims to improve the minimum quality of life of residents and create a warm holiday atmosphere of sharing together.
