Seoul Gangseo-gu to Host Online 'Dream Maker Job Experience' for Youth... First-Come, First-Served Registration at Each Dong Community Center from 2nd to 10th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] An experiential event featuring the latest promising careers such as YouTube creators, makeup artists, webtoon writers, and hologram experts will be held.
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is operating the 2021 Community Center Winter Vacation Program "Dream Maker Career Experience," which allows online career experiences.
The purpose is to help youth discover their aptitudes and develop career competencies through career experience.
The career experience job groups include a total of 14 contents: ▲YouTube Creator ▲Webtoon Writer ▲Profiler ▲Special Effects Makeup Artist (Character) ▲Makeup Artist ▲Art Therapist ▲Hologram Expert ▲Picture Book Illustrator ▲Character Designer ▲Photographer ▲Actor ▲Composer ▲Vocalist ▲Social Enterprise CEO.
The experience is conducted through online lectures, and participants can apply after selecting one preferred career group.
Experience kits for each job are also provided to enable vivid experiential activities. Using online classes and kits, various activities such as special effects makeup, makeup, video production, character design, and original song creation will be conducted.
Participants can also hear career stories from industry professionals, helping to develop a "realistic perspective" on careers. After the class ends, 1:1 customized answers from professionals are prepared to resolve various questions.
The target audience is youth residing in Gangseo-gu (4th grade elementary to middle school students), who can apply by visiting their local community center from the 2nd to the 10th.
The number of recruits is 200 people (10 per each neighborhood) and will be closed on a first-come, first-served basis. The tuition fee is 5,000 KRW, and families receiving basic living subsidies are exempt from the fee.
Selected participants will receive an access link via text message from the district office, and lectures can be attended at any preferred time between 9 AM and 6 PM on the 24th.
A district official said, "Considering the difficulties youth face in outdoor activities due to COVID-19 during the winter vacation, we prepared an online career experience program," adding, "We hope this opportunity will greatly help future dreamers in their career planning."
