Report of Suspected Highly Pathogenic AI at Anseong Laying Hen Farm
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] A suspected case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) has occurred at a laying hen farm in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province.
On the 31st, the Central Avian Influenza Countermeasures Headquarters announced that after receiving a report of suspected death at a laying hen farm in Anseong, quarantine authorities conducted tests and detected the H5 type AI antigen.
The headquarters is currently conducting detailed tests, and the determination of high pathogenicity is expected within 1 to 3 days.
The headquarters has restricted access to the farm and conducted an epidemiological investigation. Additionally, preemptive quarantine measures such as movement restrictions, surveillance, and testing have been implemented for farms within a 10km radius.
