Gwangju City Expands Support Fund Eligibility for Long-Term Safe Driving Corporate Taxi Drivers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 31st that it will expand the scope of payments for the Corporate Taxi Happiness Filling Project to boost the morale of long-term accident-free corporate taxi drivers.
The Happiness Filling Project is a program that provides an incentive of 50,000 KRW per month, totaling 600,000 KRW annually, to long-term, diligent corporate taxi drivers with no accidents, aiming to improve poor working conditions.
This project was introduced last year to boost taxi drivers' morale and enhance citizen safety and courtesy.
This year, to support corporate taxi drivers facing even greater difficulties due to COVID-19, the eligibility criteria have been relaxed from long-term service of over 10 years to over 7 years, allowing about 500 people to benefit, an increase of approximately 50% compared to 340 last year.
