Dong-Eui University Holds 'Empathy and Communication' Forum for Community Coexistence
Presentation of University Community Contribution Cases and Exploration of Activation Strategies
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) held the '2020 Community Coexistence Forum' on January 28 under the theme of 'Coexistence of University and Local Community through Empathy and Communication.'
The forum was hosted by the Dong-Eui University University Innovation Support Project Group (Director Jo Jae-kyun) and organized by the Dong-Eui University Regional Collaboration Center (Director Yoon Hyun-seo) and the Local Autonomy Research Institute (Director Lee Min-hong).
Following presentations on Dong-Eui University's community contribution cases over the past three years, discussions were held on activating untact community contribution programs due to COVID-19 and sustainable coexistence methods between the university and the local community.
Attendees included Dong-Eui University Vice President for Academic Affairs Jo Jae-kyun, Regional Collaboration Center Director Yoon Hyun-seo, Local Autonomy Research Institute Director Lee Min-hong, Professor Park Chung-moo of the Department of Clinical Pathology, Professor Park Sung-dae of the Digital Content Major, Professor Lee Dal-byeol of the Department of Fire and Disaster Administration, Kim Cheol-woo, Secretary General of the Busan Disabled Sports Association, Kim Jung-min, Head of Administration at Seheung Hospital, Heo Kang, Team Leader of the Sports Rehabilitation Center at Dong-Eui Science College, Professor Jang Kyung-ae of the Department of Dental Hygiene at Silla University, Kim Chae-young, Director of Dong-gu Senior Welfare Center, Park Sung-il, Director of Dasarang Complex Cultural Arts Center, Jo Yoo-jin, Manager of Gaegum Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Lee Joo-eun, Director of Busan Brain Lesion Welfare Center, Kim Mi-sun, Deputy Director of Yeonsan Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Yeonje-gu, Oh Kyung-hee, Chairperson of the Jwacheon-dong Social Security Council, and Lee Su-jin, Social Welfare Officer at Jwacheon-dong Resident Center.
In his greeting, Dong-Eui University Vice President for Academic Affairs Jo Jae-kyun said, "One of Dong-Eui University's mid- to long-term development goals is contribution and cooperation with the local community," adding, "I hope this forum will serve as a precedent to activate cooperation between the university and the local community."

On January 21, Dong-Eui University held an online forum titled 'Dong-Eui University Current Learning Cooperation Project' via YouTube live broadcast. The forum, themed 'Discussing the Future of Busanjin-gu in the Post-COVID-19 Era,' was hosted by Dong-Eui University's Specialization Project Group and organized by the Dignitas Liberal Arts Education Research Institute of Dong-Eui University, with participation from Busanjin-gu and LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting.
