According to the Chinese Ministry of National Defense's WeChat account, spokesperson Wu Qian stated at the regular briefing that "It has been proven that containing China is an impossible mission. Ultimately, it is like shooting oneself in the foot with a stone."
He repeatedly shouted the phrase "Mission Impossible," meaning an impossible mission, in English as well.
Spokesperson Wu introduced that the two sides conducted practical exchanges between their militaries on the 26th and 27th, emphasizing that the two countries should develop a stable relationship through dialogue rather than conflict and confrontation. He explained that the two militaries held a video conference over two days regarding the recovery of remains of U.S. war prisoners and missing personnel, exchanging in-depth opinions on U.S. concerns and military cooperation.
The Chinese side had previously failed to attend the U.S.-China Military Maritime Cooperation Agreement (MMCA) related meeting scheduled for mid-last month without prior notice.
