Police: "Doing Our Best for Safe Vaccine Transport... Strict Response to Vaccination Disruption Acts"
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The police announced that they will make every effort to ensure that the COVID-19 vaccination, starting next month, is carried out safely.
On the 28th, Song Min-heon, Deputy Commissioner of the National Police Agency, stated at the 'Comprehensive Plan for COVID-19 Vaccination' briefing held at the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency in Cheongju, Chungbuk, "To ensure the safe transportation of vaccines, we will deploy patrol cars for escort and mobilize all available personnel to work jointly with the military to secure safety to the fullest extent."
The 'COVID-19 Vaccine Transportation Support Headquarters,' led by the military, will manage the overall situation of vaccine distribution. The police will actively support this. The military and police will supervise and control the transportation process to ensure it proceeds normally.
Deputy Commissioner Song said, "We will deploy police forces to vaccination centers to maintain order and protect medical personnel, supporting smooth vaccination," adding, "In particular, we will respond strictly to acts that interfere with vaccination, such as assaults on medical staff administering vaccines."
