SK Hynix to Pay Performance Bonuses Equivalent to '20% of Annual Salary'
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] SK Hynix has decided to pay its employees a performance bonus equivalent to about 20% of their annual salary.
According to the semiconductor industry on the 28th, SK Hynix announced that it will pay a Performance Sharing (PS) bonus amounting to 400% of one-twentieth of the annual salary. The payment date is set for February 3, and most job categories, including production and technical office workers, are included.
PS is an incentive paid when the previous year's performance exceeds the target profit. Early last year, SK Hynix did not pay this bonus due to poor 2019 results. Instead, a separate special contribution payment was made at that time. This time, it appears the company is rewarding employees as the semiconductor industry achieved good results despite the COVID-19 situation.
Earlier this month, SK Hynix paid employees a 'Productivity Incentive (PI)' equivalent to 100% of their base salary for the second half of last year. PI is paid twice a year, in the first and second halves.
